Giggs to quit Manchester United

6 Apr 2014Manchester United's most successful player of all time, Ryan Giggs, is contemplating leaving Old Trafford at the end of the season, which would put an end to a 24-year playing career, as well as a coaching role that he started this year.

The 40-year-old midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and having been used sparingly this campaign by David Moyes, despite his age, is ready to turn his back on the team that gave him his professional debut back in 1990.Giggs is also now a coach for the Red Devils, but a rumoured tumultuous relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson's replacement has convinced the former Welsh international to leave United at the end of the season.

The Daily Mail have suggested that Giggs may even be considering continuing his playing career at another club, but this has not been confirmed by either party. Giggs is considering finishing his training as a coach elsewhere, in a bid to prove himself as a future manager.

Manchester United fans would love to have their most celebrated player lead them to similar glory as Fergie did, but Giggs will need some more experience off the pitch before he is given that opportunity.
