Arjen Robben Warns Bayern Munich Teammates Manchester United Will be a Tough Matchup

Bayern Munich midfielder Arjen Robben has issued a warning to fellow teammates ahead of Tuesday night's quarter-final first leg against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the UEFA Champions League. Speaking on Bayern's official club website, the Dutch winger stated that he and his team need to be on top of their game regardless of United's unsatisfactory form this season. "United lost 2-0 away to Olympiakos in the last 16 but won 3-0 at home. We need to watch ourselves", stated the Dutchman. "The media and everyone else is saying: United aren’t in good shape so you’ll definitely make the semi-finals. I don’t like this at all. It’ll be a tough contest. We need a top performance right from the start."Robben will be heading back to the Theatre of Dreams for the first time in nearly four years, where his spectacular volley from a Franck Ribery corner was enough for Bayern to progress to the semi-finals on the away goals rule during their 2009/10 UEFA Champions League campaign."I gave him (Ribery) a little hand signal before that goal, and I could tell from the way he shaped to take the kick that he’d seen me", said Robben whilst recollecting his thoughts of that particular moment."The ball came over, I stayed completely calm and cushioned the shot rather than blasting it."It’s certainly one of my top five. It wasn’t just a great goal, it was incredibly important."He also spoke of his admiration towards Old Trafford itself, stating that the stadium is special to him and not just because of the memories of his spectacular strike there against United back in April 2010. "Playing in England is always fantastic, and Old Trafford is very special with an amazing atmosphere", said Arjen."A Champions League quarter-final in these surroundings – it’s the kind of thing you dream of as a player."Bayern Munich head into Wednesday night's game after already securing their 24th Bundesliga title last Tuesday, whilst United bounced back from a heavy defeat at home to the hands of bitter rivals Manchester City with a 4-1 victory in the Premier League over Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Saturday.
