Not Vidal: Van Gaal Informs Man Utd Of His Number One Target

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has told the board that he wants Kevin Strootman this summer and only him, as the Dutchman looks to add the AS Roma midfield to his ranks.

Strootman, a Dutch international, was a key part of Roma’s fantastic start to the domestic campaign last season in Serie A, however, he missed the majority of the term after undergoing a knee operation in March which ruled him out for the Netherlands at the World Cup.

Van Gaal is even prepared to wait until January, when Strootman is expected to recover from his injury, to bring in the midfielder rather than buy a player this summer who does not fit the criteria.
