News Update :

Vidal passes medical tests, reserved No.7, he's in Manchester

Daily updates on Manchester United‘s pursuit of Arturo Vidal have been happening ever since the Chilean returned from his post-World Cup holiday and today is awash with reports that Vidal has passed a United medical. The driving force behind the rumours looks to be the Metro but it seems their source of information is a two day old report from Chilean newspaper Emol and the palpable sense of excitement hasn’t been helped by the fact Sky Bet have United down as 1/10 favourites to sign him. Bet Victor have decided to cover the news as well. La Tercera in Chile have taken reports a step further by suggesting United have reserved the No.7 shirt based on reports from the British press, which by the looks of things is this article from Caught Offside, a website notorious for inventing rumours. What do we know about the current Vidal situation? Juventus are publicly in no rush to sell him, in fact they have insisted he is a fundamental player who isn’t going to leave this summer. It’s what everybody expects a club to do when their star player is linked with an exit, even if it isn’t the case. Juventus have also refuted claims that Vidal was in Manchester to have a medical. “Vidal in Manchester? No, he was here yesterday,” Marotta said. Vidal himself last been ambiguous and non committal with his comments about the situation, choosing to use semantics which do nothing but keep the cloud of mystery hanging over his future. Meanwhile, Juventus boss Allegri insists Vidal has told the club he wants to stay in private. At this stage, United’s pursuit of Vidal has descended into a muddy mess with regards to what is being reported in the press. Nobody truly seems to know what the situation is and depending on what reports you read, there are different stories emerging everywhere.
