United close on Hummels
MANCHESTER UNITED appear to be moving closer to the signing of Germany star Mats Hummels.
According to reports in Spain last night, Hummels has turned down interest from Barcelona.
Spanish newspaper Sport
believes Hummels is on the verge of a move to Old Trafford after United
agreed a £16million fee with Bayer Leverkusen for the defender.
Louis
Van Gaal needs defensive reinforcements at United with Rio Ferdinand,
Nemanja Vidic and now Patrice Evra all leaving the club.
And Hummels impressed the Dutchman at the World Cup this summer, helping Germany sweep all before them in Brazil.
However, Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp insists neither Hummels or Marco Reus - both linked with moves away - will NOT be leaving.
"Both will stay here this season," Klopp said. "There is no tendency they'd want to be elsewhere.
"Did they also say €20m (£17m)? When papers mention such numbers you know it's garbage."
