Manchester United have taken a gigantic step forward in securing the services of their main summer transfer target Arturo Vidal.
According to the Metro, the 27-year-old has passed a medical ahead of his highly anticipated move to Old Trafford.
Louis Van Gaal has had his eyes on Vidal all summer as he looks to strengthen a United side that finished in a disappointing seventh place last season under David Moyes.
He has already added Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw to his squad but wants a real marquee name to win over some plaudits before the season begins.
Vidal certainly fits that calibre as he has become one of the game’s best box-to-box midfielders in Europe over the last three seasons at Juventus.
With the Turin club, the Chilean has won three consecutive Serie A titles and become a star man for his international side, who he represented this summer at the World Cup.
United have agreed to pay Vidal a lucrative £200,000-a-week and now only minor personal terms are left to be agreed ahead of official completion.
