Not Vidal: Van Gaal Informs Man Utd Of His Number One Target

Central Midfield: Kevin Strootman

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has told the board that he wants Kevin Strootman this summer and only him, as the Dutchman looks to add the AS Roma midfield to his ranks.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with Arturo Vidal this summer, though club officials have reportedly played down the chances of them being able to secure the Chilean midfielder
Strootman, a Dutch international, was a key part of Roma’s fantastic start to the domestic campaign last season in Serie A, however, he missed the majority of the term after undergoing a knee operation in March which ruled him out for the Netherlands at the World Cup.
Strootman has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United over the summer, however, the

Strootman could be the resolution to a lacklustre midfield, which has only been bolstered by one arrival in Ander Herrera. Marouane Fellaini has struggled to settle in and van Gaal is keen on the box-to-box player with a transfer involving Arturo Vidal unlikely, according to Goal.

Van Gaal is even prepared to wait until January, when Strootman is expected to recover from his injury, to bring in the midfielder rather than buy a player this summer who does not fit the criteria.

Club president says Chilean wants Manchester United transfer

Angelo Henriquez now looks certain to be leaving Manchester United this summer after his old club in Chile spoke out about the situation. Henriquez has failed to make an impact at Manchester United and had two unsuccesful loan periods, one with Wigan Athletic and one with Zaragoza. At Wigan Athletic the lack of chances Roberto Martinez gave the young striker was at times inexplicable and it was a waste of a loan for all concerned.
Zaragoza pinned their hopes on the youngster to get them promotion in Spain but the team wasn't good enough by some distance and they finished closer to the bottom of the table than top.
Henriquez, 20, has already represented his country a few times at senior level but his loan struggles haven't helped his progress. A permanent move is perhaps best for the player and Universidad de Chile are in a battle wirh Argentina's River Plate for the player.
Universidad de Chile's president Carlos Heller has told media in the country that he wants Henriquez and the players wants a Manchester United sanctioned transfer. Heller was quoted by El Mercurio as saying "We talked with the reps. It's very close, he also has an offer from River Plate, but I think he should come."
A return to Chile will be seen as a failure by many but Henriquez has plenty of time to fulfil his potential, he's not going to be able to do that through either pointless loans or sitting on the bench.

Manchester United ‘make £47.4million transfer offer for Arturo Vidal’

Manchester United have reportedly made a giant £47.4million offer for Juventus star Arturo Vidal.
The Chilean midfielder has been strongly linked with a switch to United all summer – and now the Red Devils have seemingly made their move.
Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport says Louis van Gaal gave the offer to Vidal’s agent Fernando Felicevich this week – and he has presented to Juventus for them to consider.
Van Gaal has liked Vidal since the pair were in Germany and wants to build his new-look side around the 27-year-old.
Liverpool and Arsenal have also been linked with Vidal but it’s thought that neither side is considering a rival offer.

United close on Hummels

MANCHESTER UNITED appear to be moving closer to the signing of Germany star Mats Hummels.

According to reports in Spain last night, Hummels has turned down interest from Barcelona.

Spanish newspaper Sport believes Hummels is on the verge of a move to Old Trafford after United agreed a £16million fee with Bayer Leverkusen for the defender.

Louis Van Gaal needs defensive reinforcements at United with Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and now Patrice Evra all leaving the club.

And Hummels impressed the Dutchman at the World Cup this summer, helping Germany sweep all before them in Brazil.

However, Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp insists neither Hummels or Marco Reus - both linked with moves away - will NOT be leaving.

"Both will stay here this season," Klopp said. "There is no tendency they'd want to be elsewhere.

"Did they also say €20m (£17m)? When papers mention such numbers you know it's garbage."

Man Utd transfersnews: Hummels and Reus

Jürgen Klopp has dismissed claims that Mats Hummels and Marco Reus could be on their way out of Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with a bid for Hummels, while Reus has been touted as a target for Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers in recent days.

However, Dortmund boss Klopp has denied reports that the pair could be set to leave the Bundesliga club this summer, branding the speculation as “garbage”.
“Both will stay here this season,” said Klopp. “There is no tendency they’d want to be elsewhere.
“Did they also say €20m? When papers mention such numbers you know it’s garbage.”
Reus, 25, scored 16 goals and made 13 assists in the Bundesliga last term. Hummels, also 25, netted twice and made two assists.

Manchester United set to make £17m Daley Blind bid

Manchester United are set to make a bid for Ajax star Daley Blind, according to the Express. The report has suggested that new United boss Louis van Gaal is ready to make the Dutch international his third major signing at Old Trafford this summer, as the club prepare a £17 million offer.
The Red Devils boss has already completed deals to bring teenager Luke Shaw and Spanish ace Ander Herrera to the Theatre of Dreams, and it now appears that Blind could follow the duo in this transfer window.

Dutch
It's no surprise that new United boss Van Gaal has been linked with a number of Dutch stars in recent time after he led the national side to the semi-finals of the World Cup in Brazil. The report from The Express, has suggested that the Red Devils have been linked with the likes of Memphis Depay and Arjen Robben in recent time, but Blind now appears to be the man that could be reunited with Van Gaal.
The 24-year-old has enjoyed a fine stint at Ajax, having helped the club secure their fourth consecutive league title last term, Blind, who was also named the Dutch Footballer of the Year for 2014, would certainly be a major coup for United in this transfer window.
His versatility must be a major attraction for the new Manchester United boss, as the player can play in defence and midfield. He could, then, compete with youngster Luke Shaw in the left-back role or slot into the holding position in the middle of the park.

United defence
Manchester United fans will certainly be hoping the club improve defensively ahead of the start of the new season. Despite the signing of Shaw, United seemingly have a lack of options in their back-line after experienced trio Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra all departed the club.
Full-back Alex Buttner, who struggled to make an impression under David Moyes, was also shipped out this summer, meaning Shaw is United's only real first-team left-back at the club.
It's the central of defence, however, where the Red Devils are really struggling. The likes of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans are United's main centre-halfs, but all three have struggled with injuries and form in recent time.
Manchester United fans will certainly be hoping the likes of Blind and Co. arrive at the club before the Red Devils host Swansea City in their first league outing next month.

Manchester United target drops exit hint

PSG striker Edinson Cavani has hinted that he could depart the Ligue 1 champions this summer, with Manchester United one of many teams interested.
According to the Express, the Uruguayan is ready to leave the French capital, with Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea all sharing the Red Devils’ interest in the forward. Some reports suggest that Cavani failed to turn up to PSG’s pre-season training session, but PSG were quick to say that the striker will join up with the squad on friday ahead of their Asian tour.
But the striker, who scored against England in the World Cup, has spoken about his future, leaving the door open for a move away from France: “Football is a sport where confidence is everything,” he said.

“When a club wants you, calls you, they want to make you part of their project, they are looking for you. In those moments, you feel confident. I am relaxed on what those can say about my work. Palermo, Napoli and PSG all gave me this confidence.  A change of club does not solely depend on the wants of the player, there have to be different movements among clubs.
“I have a four year contract with Paris. The Premier League or the Bundesliga? I like them a lot but I am not used to constantly changing league. Germany, Spain, Italy and England have the best leagues. But France are progressing.”
Manchester United have been repeatedly linked with the former Napoli forward, and could be ready to test PSG’s hold of the seemingly unhappy striker.

PICTURE: Arturo Vidal in red colour

Manchester United have been strongly linked to Arturo Vidal over the last few weeks, and quite rightly, the fans have been drooling over the prospect of seeing the Chilean enforcer wearing the famous Red United jersey.

Whilst this image has obviously been photoshopped, it does make you want the move to happen even more. If you believe reports then we’re currently leading the charge for Vidal if he were to leave Juventus, but it’d take a huge bid for the Turin side to sell up.
http://adf.ly/pz7J8
Manchester United will try to lure Arturo Vidal away from Juventus with a huge salary worth £230,000 a week, claim The Metro. The Chilean is one of the best players in his position in world football, and has been at the heart of a dominant Juventus team for the last few years.

Now 27, Vidal is in his prime. You’ll get around five years out of him at the top level if he stays injury free, and Manchester United need proven quality who can slot right in and make an impact immediately.
He will obviously cost an awful lot of money though, and the fee being touted by the media is around £30-35million to tempt Juventus into parting with their big star.
Vidal would be perfect alongside someone like Ander Herrera, and if we were to land him then we’d go from having one of the weakest midfield’s in Europe to one of the best almost instantly.

Red samurai linked with arch rivals

Shinji Kagawa, midfielder of Manchester United has been heavily linked with Liverpool.

Returning to Dortmund was likely to happen but now Kagawa could stay in England next season with Liverpool.

Shinji is not getting enough playing time at United and Liverpool missed both winger Yevhen Konoplyanka and Mohamed Salah, so this deal is likely to happen.

Oh no! Moyes offloading Manchester United Star

Daily Mail reports that, Manchester United star little pea Javier Hernandez wants to leave Old trafford in the summer.

Javier Hernandez was regular starter under SAF era but he failed to impress Moyes.

Moyes prefer Hernandez  after Rooney, RVP and welbeck only. Hernandez wanted to leave Old trafford for the first team, according to The Sun.

Offloading of Hernandez has become more obvious as Manchester United has been heavily linked with Cavani, PSG striker.
